Small Group Photo Shoots - As Simple as 1, 2, 3!

Dublin's best known street is a photographer's dream at night, with well known landmarks, light trails from cars and buses, and shots of the Liffey from the bridge.  Come and explore Dublin's heart on a small group shoot where you'll get photos to be proud of.
Gift Certificates Buy your loved one (or yourself!) the gift of a shoot!  Gift certificates can be redeemed against any shoot run by Joe Houghton Photography!  Just click on the button and you can email or print out your certificate - a great last minute present! Most shoots are €40, but you can select various amounts from €5 - €1000 for your gift certificate, and this can be put towards any of the shoots or other sessions - and there's no time limit within which they have to be used.  If you want to get a certificate for an amount not on the drop-down list, give Joe a call and he can send you a email PayPal button for the specific amount you need.
One to One tuition sessions now available.         Only € 100 Would you like a couple of hours spent one on one with Joe, asking the questions you want answers to with your camera, your lenses and no-one else to get in the way?  These session can be structured however and wherever you want : As a 2 hour individual shoot As a sit down going through the camera settings Learn how to shoot your babies or children How to get good sports shots of your son or daughter How to capture landscapes, seascapes, whatever your preference The key thing is that you get to learn what you need, at your own pace.  Or give a session as a great present for a friend or loved one. Order here and then Joe will contact you to set up a time and date.  Note - locations outside the Dublin area will attract an extra charge for travel time - to be agreed before the session.

The idea is to come out and spend time with an experienced photographer in a relaxed setting where you can ask questions and be shown what to do, then and there, with your camera!   And whatever your camera or lens(es), compact or SLR, Nikon, Canon, Sony or any other, come along - these shoots are for everyone!  

You go home with lovely shots in your camera, knowing how to get them again in future!  Why not do them up as framed prints or canvases - your own art is great to have hanging on the wall.  For great value prints or canvases, we partner with The Canvas Works who offer great discounts to anyone ordering from one of these shoots.

If you don't have a credit card, no problem - just pay at the shoot!  Please call and book with Joe by phone and confirm that we have places available on the shoot you want to come on.

The Liffey by Night A spectacular evening walking along the river Liffey shooting the bridges and buildings reflecting off the black waters.  You'll shoot the Four Courts, Ha'Penny Bridge, and the Customs House plus lots more...		We start in front of the Clarence Hotel, Wellington Quay - see MAP . (You need a tripod for this shoot - hand-held night shots get very blurred! The Botanic Gardens One of Dublin's best horticultural attractions, there's loads to shoot wherever you turn once you're in the gates!  Flowers, squirrels, a waterfall, loads of great photo opportunities.		We start at the Botanic Gardens Glasnevin car-park - see MAP.  There's a €2 parking fee in the car-park, and it gets full, so come early :).	Sat 28th April See shots from previous shoots HERE	2-4 pm

O'Connell Street by Night Starting down by the bridge we shoot the river, lamp standards and moving people, then move up towards Cleary's clock.  Famous statues, traffic trails, the Spire, GPO - there's so much to shoot.		We start on the central traffic island in the middle of O'Connell St. Bridge - see MAP. (You need a tripod for this shoot - hand-held night shots get very blurred! Lucan Demesne A leisurely evening stroll along the beautiful banks of the River Liffey in Lucan, on the border of Counties Dublin and Kildare.  Beautiful river shots, several heron are normally around, and there's a little waterfall to shoot as well.		Lucan Demesne car-park opposite MacDonalds - see MAP. If you have one, bring a tripod for this shoot (or borrow one off me) as the light will begin to fade so we may get some sunset shots... Grand Canal Theatre & Basin by Night Starting in front of Dublin's amazing modern theatre, we will shoot around the Basin area for a great night's photography - we'll also shoot the Dublin Eye across the river, as well as the Samuel Beckett Bridge and the amazing Convention Centre		We start in front of the Grand Canal Theatre - see MAP. Mount Usher Gardens These beautiful gardens in Ashford, Co. Wicklow are less than an hour from Dublin, and provide wonderful opportunities for river, flower and nature photography.  And there's a lovely tea-room as well.		In the car-park of the Gardens - see their website for directions.
